Shochu is a kind of distilled liquor in Japan. It is made from sweet potato, wheat, sugar cane, rice, etc., so you can enjoy the different taste depending on the ingredients. It can be drunk straight, on the rocks, with cold or hot water, as well as with soda water, tea or juice. Enjoy from pre-dinner drinks to after meals. Almost all izakaya have some. This liquor is made all over Japan but especially in the south. As the recipes and the way of making are completely different depending on the brewery, you will enjoy comparing them.
